Report Updated

We’re happy to report the initial database error has been resolved. As a result, please note the following corrections have been made to the report:

  • Spending occurred in 18 state Supreme Court races, not 19 as originally reported.
  • Spending occurred in three retention races, not four as originally reported.
  • A majority of contributions came from donors who contributed at least $1,000 in 14 of the 18 states in which candidate fundraising was recorded, not 15 of 19, as originally reported.
  • Total estimated candidate fundraising in state Supreme Court races in 2013-14 was $20,643,343.19, not $20,652,934.19 as originally reported.
  • Total estimated spending in state Supreme Court races in 2013-14 was $34,515,019.34, not $34,524,619.34 as originally reported.
  • Total estimated retention election spending in Supreme Court races in 2013-14 was $6,465,348.29, not $6,474,948.29 as originally reported.
  • The states that recorded spending in their Supreme Court elections in 2013-14 held races for a total of 44 high court seats, not 46 as originally reported.
